The FalconStor® Network Storage Server (NSS) is a scalable, highly available solution that enables storage virtualization and business continuity in heterogeneous environments. Supporting existing third-party disk arrays, FalconStor NSS eliminates storage boundaries and vendor lock-in, providing fast and easy data provisioning, mirroring, migration, snapshots, and WAN-optimized replication. With integrated support for Fibre Channel (FC), iSCSI, and FCoE protocols, FalconStor NSS provides the benefits of storage virtualization across any IT environment or budget.

Through advanced services such as thin provisioning, FalconStor NSS maximizes resource utilization to help you get the most ROI from storage investments. With thin provisioning, physical capacity is automatically allocated only when needed. This can be applied to primary storage, replica storage, and mirrored storage.

Automated DR with RecoverTrac™ Technology

RecoverTrac technology automates the complex tasks of recovering both data and IT business operations. RecoverTrac technology supports physical and virtual servers, any
type of storage or networking, and physical-to-virtual (P2V) recovery. Additionally, the RecoverTrac tool enables non-disruptive testing of recovery jobs.

Advanced Mirroring

Data can be mirrored within or across disk arrays for business continuity or READ I/O improvement. Alternate-READ Mirror volumes mitigate READ I/O contention for

FalconStor NSS accelerates I/O performance with solid-state (SSD) support. HotZone, a
READ-specific cache, and SafeCache, a WRITE-specific cache, accelerate intensive I/O operations. Designated cache capacity can be defined on memory, SSD, or fast disk capacity.

FalconStor NSS provides support for VMware Site Recovery Manager with any disk array found in the VMware Hardware Certification List. It also provides support for VMware

Windows 2008 and Hyper-V Support

P2V Recovery

Use snapshot images or replica volumes to quickly restart failed physical systems as virtual machines. A Central Client Manager lets you configure and monitor protected servers from a centralized, single point of view.

Large LUN Support

Supports individual LUNs up to 64TB in size, accommodating data growth and server
virtualization needs.

Accelerate Backup to Tape

Where tape is required, FalconStor NSS technology enables host-free, SAN-based backup
that eliminates the need for backup agents and imposes no impact on your production environment. Backup speed increases dramatically, by as much as 1000% (moving from a 1Gb LAN-based backup to a 10Gb SAN backup).
